FOUND: The “Moonburst” AA Fuel Dragster Has Been Sitting In A Field In This Trailer For 43 Years!

Barn finds are rad, but what about trailer finds? Well it seems like we’ve heard of more than a few really old and cool race cars being found inside trailers sitting outside in the weather of late, but this one might take the cake. I’d never heard of the Moonburst AA Fuel Dragster myself, but the history of this ride is pretty cool. Arguably as cool as the dragster itself is the trailer, or cocoon, it’s been stuck in since the 1970s! This Mr. Ed dragster trailer is about as iconic cool as you’ll find. Nothing like race trailers today, other than the fact that it holds a race car, these things are arguably as sexy as the cars they carried. Or in this case, the car it has protected and loved for more than 40 years.

The video of the story of getting this car out and seeing it for the first time in 40 plus years starts more like 20 years ago, so don’t think this was some quick adventure. This one took a lot of perseverance and dedication and we love that the story is continuing.

Watch, enjoy, drool, and be ready for the next chapter of the adventures of the Moonburst dragster.

And by the sound of it, it will sit another 43 years unfortunately. Very cool story, the trailer is just about as cool as the car.

These hoarders drive me nuts. Either do something with what you got or let it go to someone that will.
