Schomburgkia lueddemanii

Scientific name:Schomburgkia lueddemanii

An autogenous epiphytic orchid native to Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela and other places, growing in a forest at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. Plant height of about 30 to 50 centimeters high. The stem is a pseudo-bulb, oval or spherical; leaves are leathery, ribbon-shaped, 2 to 3 pieces, about 18 to 30 centimeters long and 4.5 centimeters wide. The scape is withdrawn from the top of the stem, erect, rod-shaped, about 15 to 30 centimeters long. Flower size is about 7-8 centimeters. Petals and sepals are brown, oval-shaped, about 3.5 to 4.2 centimeters long. Lip is purple, split in three, about 2.3 centimeters long, the central part has three yellow protrusions. Gynostemium is purple, arched, about 1.5 centimeters long. Flower life is about 25 to 30 days, flowering season is in spring-summer. It is easy to cultivate.
