Audi Q7 facelift bookings open ahead of its launch this month

The 2022 Audi Q7 comes with cosmetic updates to the exterior and interior, feature updates and a new engine.

Audi has announced that the bookings for the new facelifted Audi Q7 have commenced in India. Alongside several cosmetic and feature updates, the former flagship SUV will now come in only petrol guise. The initial booking amount for the Audi Q7 55 TFSI is Rs 5 lakh.

“After nine product launches in 2021, we are excited to step into the new year with another incredible offering the legendary Audi Q7 for which we open bookings today. The Audi Q7 has always been loved by customers for its sheer magnanimous road presence and its versatile performance - on and off the road.” said Balbir Singh Dhillion, Head, Audi India.

Audi is offering the new Q7 in two trims - Premium Plus and Technology.

Visually the changes include the new larger single frame grille flanked by large air-intakes and new signature Audi LED daytime running lights with Matrix lighting. The front and rear bumpers have been tweaked as well, a chrome strip has been added between the taillamps. The car is now 11mm longer as well and rides on new alloy wheels. The turn indicator front and rear are sequential.

Updates to the cabin are the most comprehensive on the Audi Q7, it now matches the current gen Audi cars and comes with 4-Zone automatic climate control, contoured ambient lighting with 30 colours, panoramic sunroof and blacked out trim inside the cabin. There is a 10.1-inch infotainment display coupled with an 8.6-inch display on the central console for climate control and heated/cooled seat settings. The Audi Virtual cockpit forms the instrument panel, while there is a powerful Bang and Olufsen 3D Sound system. Audi Q7 also features adaptive Matrix LED headlamps, 360-degree camera, automatic parking, adaptive air suspension, Audi Drive select and Quattro AWD system.

Audi Q7 facelift India launch will take place in January.

Audi has ditched the diesel for the Q7 in this avatar, the only engine option is a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI turbo petrol engine that produces 340bhp and 500Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The engine also powers the Q8 and A8 L. As is customary, the Audi Q7 features Quattro all-wheel-drive system and Drive select, which make it a capable machine on the highways as it can zip to a hundred in 5.9 seconds and tackle rough terrain as well.

It is imported as a CKD-Completely Knocked Down kit and is being assembled at the company’s plant in Aurangabad. Interested customers can book their Audi Q7 at the company’s website or Audi dealerships across the country, prices for the car will soon be revealed. Audi Q7 will be available in Premium Plus and Technology variants and we're expecting a starting price of around Rs 75 to 80 lakh (ex-showroom).
