Location On icon disappearing

Hey there iMore forum goers,

I got my first iPhone 5 when I upgraded my contract on Verizon back in April and I love this thing to death, love it better than my old android phone I use to have. Everything is perfect with this phone, except earlier today I noticed that the Location On icon kept disappearing after a few seconds of going back to the home screen. The Location On icon reappears when I access Apple Maps and then disappears again when I go back to the home screen.

I'm on Verizon running iOS 6.1.4 and my iPhone 5 is not jailbroken.

Any help with figuring out and resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

It's not an issue...

When Maps is not full screen and active, it won't be using GPS constantly, thus the indicator goes away.

ah ok thanks Keith. I finally figured out I have a few Google Apps that use the Location On services and I was signed out of those. Close this thread if it needs be. Thanks again
