another GIMP edit. original scan is 100 jpeg with subsampling. fixed crease, spots, tuned colour levels a bit and applied small amount of selective blur. danbooru has smaller version on this artwork, worse quality, but warmer in tones, which i would prefer for this image.
exported to png because of amount of changes to image.
enjoy! report if i miss something in repair.
You'll need to ask a mod nicely to release it into the index. It has been flagged as low-res
These posts are really making me want to go back and watch all these shows I haven't seen in 20 years now.

Which ones are still watchable? Kiddy Grade, Read or Die, Maria-sama ga Miteru etc etc?

Good work, by the way. And it’s nice to have a little nostalgia trip from time to time.

Do you mean available to watch, or worth watching? I still have most of this stuff on DVD, they just sit there collecting dust year after year because there is never time.

What has held-up well over the years.

[Xcalibur-RAWS] when?
srsly, rip and upload. maybe you have some rare stuff? torrents can take anything and good encodes are always appreciated.

Even if I just stuck to personal favorites that would be a long list. At least as far as story telling goes since a fair amount of these shows don't hold up well animation-wise. Some do but budgets being what they often were back then those shows are so full of pan shots in place of real action and the character models would be wonky in off-key shots. Visually I think anime looks better today than it ever has, but in terms of story telling its just not the same and not as good anymore. It's like the people who work in the industry now don't understand proper script writing and story composition.

Compare modern fantasy shows to something like Escaflowne, or a modern slow-burn slice of life show to something like Haibane Renmei.
