Variety’. A famous Cattleya mossiae from the 1930’s and 40’s is used here

This C. mossiae has a more solid lip color, and the atropurpureum has

Paphiopedilum sanderianum 

We picture the 'Raven Cliff Falls' AM/AOS clone of this rare species, which has petals measuring 39 inches 

(99 cm) long. We offer two sibling crosses, each in two sizes, at new, unbelievable prices.

8015 Paph. sanderianum 'Nature's Glory' x Paph. sanderianum 'Dark Beauty'. The 'Nature's Glory' parent 

has long petals and the 'Dark Beauty' clone is the darkest we have seen. Most vigorous of our sanderianum 

sibling crosses 

8017 Paph. sanderianum 'Dark Beauty' x Paph. sanderianum 'Newberry Tresses'. Another combination for 

dark flowers with long petals. The 'Newberry Tresses' clone is especially graceful, with petals that flare and have 

lots of twists. Nice plants. 

Culture: Paph. sanderianums are relatively easy to grow, though slow to establish when repotted. They prefer a 

medium fir bark mix and relatively small containers. They will bloom and be happy in 3.5" to 4" pots. They 

like brighter conditions than most paphiopedilums and somewhat more fertilizer. Once considered extinct in 

nature, they are now heavily protected. The greatest danger to them appears to be forest fires in their native 

Indonesia. Some poaching continues. Artificially grown seedlings help to protect the wild plants. 

All of the plants offered above were grown from seed in our laboratory. Current CITES regulations do 

not allow us to export Paphiopedilum sanderianum or any other paphiopedilum species.

cross). Bred from the rare Paphiopedilum 

sanderianum onto the clear yellow Paphiopedilum 

primulinum, this is a happy combination 

of both. Long, twisting petals come 

from the sanderianum and yellow color
