Multi-hyphenate Eva Longoria (she’s an actor-director-producer-author-entrepreneur) has accomplished so much in her decades-long career. But perhaps her biggest contribution to the beauty industry specifically is that she taught us all how to pronounce hyaluronic acid. (For the record, it’s hai-uh-lr-aa-nuhk a-suhd.)

At this point, the 47-year-old former Desperate Housewives star has joined the ranks of other superstars like Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, and Julia Roberts: You see each of them year after year on the small and big screens and think, “She is glowing. What’s her secret?” For Longoria, it’s all about prioritizing self-care. “I meditate every day—it really grounds me—and I work out,” she tells Women’s Health. “That’s my mental health hour. I need the oxygen to my brain to function properly.”

Of course, skincare plays a role too—and Longoria knows a thing or two about that as a L’Oreal Paris ambassador. “I’m a big skincare person,” she says. Top on her list of priorities: “sunblock, sunblock, sunblock” and the aforementioned ingredient. “Hyaluronic acid has really changed my skin,” she says. “Don’t you dare take that away from me.”

Here, Longoria shares her full let’s-glow-girl routine.

Longoria loves this multitasker

What could be better than one heavy hitting ingredient in a cream? How about three! That’s exactly what you’ll get with the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Triple Power Anti-Aging Moisturizer—Longoria’s “new favorite.” It combines hydrating and plumping hyaluronic acid with protective, brightening vitamin C and firming pro-retinol, a gentler version of the anti-aging mainstay.

Even better, this powerful moisturizer is available for around $20 at your local drugstore and on Amazon.com, has been dermatologist tested to be appropriate for all skin types, and can improve the look of your skin in just four weeks.

SPF is non-negotiable for Longoria

Every dermatologist will tell you that regularly wearing sunscreen is one of the best things you can do for the health and appearance of your skin—and it’s something that Longoria treats as gospel. “I reapply SPF three or four times a day,” she says. “It’s not like something you put on once in the morning and then you’re done. I really put it back on.”

Though Longoria admits choosing a sunscreen can be “pretty personal,” she knows what she’s looking for in a product: “It needs to be invisible,” she says. “I don’t like a thick sunscreen that leaves a white residue.” Amen!

This eye cream is a Longoria staple

When the star needs to give her eye area a little TLC, she turns to the L’Oreal Revitalift Derm Intensives 1.5% Hyaluronic Acid + 1% Caffeine Eye Serum, which you can also snag for around twenty bucks. “The applicator has these little steel balls that feel cold under your eye,” Longoria says. “It’s so gentle, I could use it twenty times a day because I just love the way it feels on my skin.”

The power-packed formula pairs hydrating hyaluronic acid, which moisturizes and plumps fine lines, with caffeine—a vasodilator that can help to remedy dark circles (they tend to show up because of pooled blood that shows through delicate undereye skin).

Sleep is one of Longoria’s keys to complexion success

Poor sleep quality can cause skin to look older and be less moisturized, according to research in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Dermatology. Luckily, that’s not something Longoria has to worry about: “I’m a good sleeper,” she says. “I have an Amazon Halo that measures your sleep and your deep sleep—I take it very seriously. I make sure the temperature in my room is right, I don’t eat too close to bedtime, I don’t drink too much, and I take magnesium, which really helps with my sleep cycle.”

She turns to this treatment to get red carpet ready

Longoria is currently prepping to hit the red carpet for the release of her feature film directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot, which will premiere on Hulu in June. It recounts the true-life story of Frito-Lay janitor Richard Montañez, who drew on his Mexican heritage to create the much beloved Flamin’ Hot Cheeto. “It’s about how opportunity is not distributed equally and how to rise up in the face of adversity,” Longoria says. “I want people to feel inspired about their own dreams and possibilities after watching this film.”

To prep for her promotion of the film, the star turns to EvolveX, a noninvasive body contouring technology that combines radiofrequency heat to destroy fat cells with electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to cause involuntary muscle contractions that tone over time.

Longoria has also tried the TikTok-famous Morpheus8, a minimally invasive body, face, and neck contouring technology that also uses radiofrequency technology. “After [my son] Santi was born, I was exercising and eating right but there was still this loose skin that, no matter what I did, wouldn’t tighten,” Longoria explains. “And a mommy friend told me about this technology, and it’s very useful because it doesn’t involve downtime. I do them when I have a red-carpet event and it’s a great tune-up.”
