Does the direct start avoid the thrutchy chimney? Great route!

I assume you mean the thrutch chimney on the usual 1st pitch?...then yes, the direct start 1st pitch we took starts up slabs in the centre of the buttress, and takes the right most facing corner above the 1st terrace finishing 5 meters right of the crack pitch in a single 60m run out.
