- THIS GENUS: Gynostemma, ( jiaogulan), consists of two climbers, which attach themselves by means of tendrils. The shape of its leaf is palmate with 7 toothed leaflets; therefore, its nickname is Seven Leaves Herb. Some people call this herb as Jiaogulan because of the physical characteristics of this herb that looks like a “Twisting-vine-orchard”.
