Single Hippeastrum Desire
Desirable blooms!
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.
Strong, orange red flowers. On established bulbs you can expect multiple stems four, or more flowers per stem.
Hippeastrum are extroverts; their large, eye catching flowers that open on tall, straight stems. The trumpet blooms last well in the garden and also cut for indoor displays.
Hippeastrums are versatile and grow well in garden soils and in pots. In pots, they can be moved to centre stage when in bloom and hidden behind the shed in winter dormancy (cool climates only, in warmer zones they remain evergreen).
Hippeastrums grow best in humus rich, moist, well drained soils. Though well drained is the most important factor. Hippeastrum grow Australia wide, they are semi evergreen and will go dormant in cool climates, where they should be protected from frosts.
Keep Hippeastrums protected from slugs and snails.
