Yesterday, for a very special #WellnessWednesday, we had the immense pleasure of sitting down with yoga connoisseur and all-around fitness guru, Sjana Elise. If you didn't already know, Sjana is a trainer on the app, SWEAT, which happens to be a personal favorite for our wellness editor, Vera Papisova, and also features another Teen Vogue fave, the lovely Kayla Itsines. What's more, she also happens to be an ambassador for Alo Yoga, an amazing activewear brand dedicated to — you guessed it — the best of the best in yoga gear.

Being the fitness buffs we are, we were delighted — if not a bit starstruck — to sit down with Sjana and learn more about her journey. She explained that getting into yoga was a means to recovery, as when she was around 15, she started suffering from bad depression. "There was other work that needed to be done but it definitely assisted me in getting back — everything from structure to just doing something small and good for yourself," she mused. She went on to share that she actually didn't attend her first actual yoga class until about a year after she started practicing. Instead, she turned to Instagram and YouTube for information and aid in her practice.

It's safe to say that Sjana is straight proof that full-body exercises like yoga can be extremely helpful when it comes to releasing negative energy, built-up aggression, or any toxic feelings your body is holding onto. And, she showed that you can do it sans any special classes, too. To watch our full conversation with the Instagram starlet, check out the video, below.
