This was the beginning of the end for vanilla, and we all believe we know what ‘real vanilla’ tastes like. Vietnamese coffee beans are roasted until very dark, so there is a bitterness to them, but to balance the flavor, sugar and cacao is added so the drink becomes full-bodied and rich. We have done the same with our Vietnamese coffee mochi ice cream by mixing a little cocoa powder into the freshly-brewed coffee to enrich the flavor. Coffee ice cream lovers are usually energetic and ambitious, but as with our Vietnamese Coffee mochi ice cream, you also know when to relax and enjoy the flavor.

Azuki Red Bean

Our Azuki Red Bean mochi ice cream holds a special place in our hearts here at Sweety because it was one of the first flavors we developed when we opened in 1978. Red Bean was not a well-known flavor in the US at the time and, as we couldn’t find the traditional ice creams of Japan, we made them ourselves, starting with Red Bean. Azuki is a variety of red beans, and it is a beloved sweet flavor in Japan, especially in ice cream. For us, our creamy and slightly nutty Azuki Red Bean mochi ice cream is a taste of nostalgia!
