The broken stripes are different and interesting. Do all the flowers on this plant have the same form?

I haven't detected any fragrance yet on this bloom.
Rick, this is first flower to open and there are two more buds, we will see if they will have the same form or not soon. Last year I only had one flower, all the rest blasted while buds. Now I keep it in the humidity tray and buds are surviving:

I had a plant of this species once, the flower exactly like this.
I got it from Woody Carlson about the time he quit work for Shaffer's Tropical Gardens near Santa Cruz. I wonder if it is the same?

nice flower! this species is supposed to like to dry out between waterings like a cattleya, sort of un-phal ish.
