Paph. Prince Edward of York is one of the finest multifloral hybrids ever made. Created by Sander's Orchid nursery in St. Alban's Just north of London. Utilizing the King and Queen of the Paphiopedilums, rothschildianum and sanderianum, the results are very strong plants with great leaves and fantastic flower displays! These plants can tolerate a fairly wide range of temperatures due to the cooler growing tolerant combined with the warm growing sanderianum. However, they grow best when in warmer conditions overall.
The current batch is mature, having just reached blooming size as of spring of 2024. We expect to see them spike summer of 2024.
These are first-time spiking plants made with stud plants collected by Sam Tsui of Orchid Inn, who is now retired.
