We have an abundance of Catasetum hybrids in spike that are of various colors. There are too little of each to list them one by one, but the photos provided are examples of parents in many of the crosses. These are very fun because they have trigger pollen, in which once you touch the trigger hair in the middle of the flower, it will instantly shoot and stick pollen onto your finger. Over the years, we have made many customers scream and jump by making them touch the trigger (without telling them what it does, of course). However, once you set the pollen off, the flower will soon die off. Mother nature sure is interesting!
These are second-time bloom plants, so they have a couple pseudobulbs and are flowering size.
Fred Clarke is the world's leading hybridizer of Catasetinae. His newer hybrids can bloom more than twice per year, and are quite unique!
