Nestor can get growths over 3 feet long over time because it is 1/2 anosmum. Darker purple flowers that have a nice sweet fragrance. Shorter lived at about 3 to 4 weeks total bloom time. In the wild they grow on the sides of trees, and the growths curve downwards. In pots, we support them with stakes to keep them straight up. Some will grow in baskets or pots without support, and let them grow over the sides of the pots as well. If you keep these too wet in the winter, they will skip the flower season in the spring. These plants should be watered sparingly between November and March to help develop flower buds.
These are relatively easy plants to grow, and can handle cool to hot temperature ranges. They are spring bloomers and flower on mature canes after they drop the foliage. After the blooms, you will notice new growths emerge from the base (usually before the flowering begins). They will repeat the cycle for the next season.
