This is a cross of two of our best coerulea-type anceps. This Mexican species is very resilient and can take a wide range of temperatures. Flowering time is in the fall with long-lasting sprays of 3.5-5" flowers, colored in a steely white with indigo-colored lips. The flowers are also fragrant. These are plants from a 2011 crossing.
It should also be noted that anceps veitchiana have curvy and sometimes twisted foliage. This seems to be the norm for this batch of veitchii. Laelia anceps begins spiking in September and will flower between late November to January. The flowers are long lasting and fragrant.
