This is one of the winter-blooming "Christmas Cattleya" that flower as the day length gets shorter. When in bloom, the fragrance is reminiscent of tangerines! This Venezuelan species has a very compact growth habit and thick leaves. These flowering-size orchids are the result of a cross made in 2008, resulting in pink flowers with purple blush in the lip. This cross primarily results in light pink colors, although there is potential for near-white color thanks to the var. albescens influence.
*These are in low sheath, and are nicknamed 'The Christmas Orchid', as they typically flower in December.
