Found in Napo and Zamora-Chinchpe provinces of Ecuador and Peru in forests at elevations of 800 to 1700 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, carinate, narrowly elliptical, acute, gradually narrowing below into the indistinct, conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a slender, suberect to horizontal, arising from low on the ramicaul sparsely bracted, 4.2 to 6" [11 to 15 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with a tubular, shorter than the pedicel floral bract.

"Characterized by the small habit and the small, white, bell-shaped flower densely pubescent within. The most distinctive feature is the small obovate lip obscurely if at all, divided into an epichile and a hypochole. The shallwly concave epichile is coursed by several, branching veins and the hypochile is broadly cleft." Luer 1993
