Hello, i'd like to take the time to present a nice HL1 mod called "Resident Evil Valiant" Name: Resident Evil - Valiant Mode: Singleplayer Mod: Half Life 1 / Spirit of Half Life Content: Custom Models/Maps/Textures/Sounds Levels: 8 so Far as Storyline and 5+ as Defense Maps Finished: Soon(tm) Style: Zombies and Grunts Team: 2 Mapper and a part time coder and many generous help like Modelling and Texturing. Story: This Modification takes place in the Resident Evil Universe, you're part of the Raccoon City Police Department when hell breaks loose and zombies invade the city. The police helicopter is flying around the city when being hit and forced to land.
Part of a New Concept or Fun Minigames.
The Goal is it for the player to Defend a Specific Place (Supermarket, Warehouse, Prison) for a set amount of time whist being under a Zombie-Raid.
BETA Screenshot.
Hmm, the brushing can be improved.
Unless a supermarket IRL actually look like this, in which case make it visually appealing, give windows so that zombies can go from all directions therefore no camping at a particular location, don't just have the roof flat, add some pillars, different light fixture, improve the lighting to increase tension and paranoia, have custom textures that look good, have a variety of textures.
And most of all, if it's possible, try not to make the place too big, a big place pretty much will demand a whole bunch of detail if you want it to look good, and it's hard to do so with the gameplay that you planned for this kind of map, just make a smaller market.
For example, my version of this map, it might give a picture of what i'm saying :

Thanks for the Feedback, i actually modelled the most part after a Game called "The Last Stand Dead Zone"

I think the biggest improvement that can be made here is to add in some rafters to break up the ceiling and to replace the regular bulbs with fluorescent lamps.

Then from there add in all the little details, back rooms, etc.
