Chief Operations at Sales Geek - Working with Franchisees, Clients and Partners for the biggest impact we can achieve together
What's your favourite album? Favourite film. Favourite TV series? Would you be willing to go on record with your choices? I certainly couldn't commit to these but if you listen to Best of Times / Worst of Times you will find out what others have been brave enough to say. I really enjoyed this - not a fan of the 'usual' businessy podcasts but this one takes a really fresh twist on things concentrating on what THE WORST OF TIMES have taught really great business people earlier in their careers. Because we've all had THE WORST OF TIMES in business, right? Except obviously we are not meant to admit about them on Linked In. "We are terminating your contract with immediate effect Ben...You have not met the expectations of the Board." - ROCKED MY WORLD and I'll still never know the reason why. What discussion had happened behind the scenes (or what hadn't). Who agreed with it / who didn't. What the 'expectations' were? Two MEGA take aways I got from the Jon Hendry Pickup episode (CEO of Butlins) were: The real VALUE IN LIFE is not what you GET it is what you DO. and Senior Leadership Teams need to remember their customer base do not necessarily want what you would of any given product or experience (often different demographics, right). Anyway, check it out - my main man David Poole of Sales Geek gets all the props. https://lnkd.in/eYbqfjFf

Proven Leader, Customer Success Advocate and Problem Solver-Engaged leader who transforms teams, products, services and overall customer experience. Passionate about the customer (internal or external) experience.
This week's episode is about what to do when things get hard. One thing I didn't discuss and should have is that sometimes when things get hard, it's because you are trying to force a square peg into a round hole. That ties into needing to course correct, which I did cover. If you find this is the case, sometimes just letting things settle is the best approach. That's hard for those of us that feel like they constantly need to be moving. But sometimes we just need to sit still.
