The ARACNE Project (Acronym for "Advocating the Role of Silk Art and Cultural Heritage at National and European Scale"), insipired by the Greek mythology, where the silk-spinning goddess Arachne transformed into a spider, is a pioneering Italian-led initiative among the three projects funded by the European Commission under the "Research and Innovation on Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries" call (HORIZON-CL2-2022-HERITAGE-01-02). Our mission with #ARACNE is to contribute to the creation of a vast and interconnected innovation ecosystem centered around silk in Europe. We envision silk not only as an industrial sector but also as a tool for expressing cultural and landscape heritage, bridging culture, tradition, and modern industrial production within an ideal network of exchange and vision. ARACNE brings together 11 partners and 3 associated partners from 7 European and non-European countries, fostering international collaboration. Here are some of our specific objectives: 📚 Knowledge and memory enhancement: reviving the European silk innovation ecosystem. 🎨 Human-centric silk-based creative solutions: leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies. 💼 Innovative strategies and business models: paving the way for cultural and creative organizations. 🌍 Establishing a European Silk Road: celebrating silk's tangible and intangible cultural heritage. 📢 Raising awareness: advocating for the importance of the silk industry in Europe. 🏛️ Strengthening European cultural identity and competitiveness for a resilient post-crisis society. ♻️ Implementing the European Green Deal, New European Bauhaus, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Stay tuned for updates, and join us in weaving the future of silk together! European Commission | European Research Executive Agency (REA) Our partners: CREA Ricerca | Iniziativa | L.E.P.L. 150 years ago today, Buda, Pest, and Óbuda were merged to create the great Budapest ❤️🤍💚, a pulsing international, but liveable 21st city for now. As someone not born here, I am still amazed by its secrets, mysterious pomp, wilderness, and unmissable attractiveness. As someone who dived a little bit deeper during her PhD studies into the factors that affect the international competitiveness of large cities, I miss dealing with this topic…. and on the occasion of the #Budapest150, I promised myself to find new paths to connect my current activities in #responsibleinnovations, #enteprepreneurshipeducation with some innovative #urban #projects and #challenges. Ideas for these possible connections are also very welcome! ;)

DREAM_PACE project partner AustriaTecho offered its work for the planning and organising #DemandResponsiveTransport, which must involve many different stakeholders, in order to ensure that solutions are harmonised and can be integrated into the already established mobility system. For this reason, in each of the six pilot regions (📍 Bologna 📍 Budapest 📍 Pavia 📍 Ost Tyrol 📍 Split Dalmatia County 📍 Stuttgart), relevant stakeholders were identified for their involvement in the living labs. The methodological background for this was described in DREAM_PACE report D3.1.1 (soon available), building on the experience from previous projects such as #SHAREPLACE, #Dynaxibility and #SMACKERS. The first workshops have already started in the pilot regions and we will soon see the first concepts for new services to be implemented and tested. Check out this very interesting study by Valerio della Sala PhD on olympic villages and walkability, a key component of the 15-minute city. In fact, olympic villages can be designed to be highly walkable by including a mix of housing, retail, and services and connecting them to the surrounding city by public transportation and pedestrian infrastructure therefore reducing car use, improving air quality, and promoting public health.

🔍📚Happy and proud to announce that tomorrow I will present one of my many studies on Olympic villages 🏡🏢🏘️. 📃The presentation will take place within the Scientific seminar entitled "Accessibility and Connectivity of the 15-minute-city "organised by ACUTE / UERA TWG Urban Accessibility and Connectivity. This time we will talk about walkability 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏻🚶🏻♀️within the Olympic villages☘️. 🗺️The philosophy of the 15-minute city brought forward by the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and the professor Carlos Moreno has also become a priority for the United Nations🌱. 🎈These kinds of studies feed knowledge and foster debate. 🏷️I thank the organisation for this wonderful opportunity.
