The ARACNE Project (Acronym for "Advocating the Role of Silk Art and Cultural Heritage at National and European Scale"), insipired by the Greek mythology, where the silk-spinning goddess Arachne transformed into a spider, is a pioneering Italian-led initiative among the three projects funded by the European Commission under the "Research and Innovation on Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries" call (HORIZON-CL2-2022-HERITAGE-01-02). Our mission with #ARACNE is to contribute to the creation of a vast and interconnected innovation ecosystem centered around silk in Europe. We envision silk not only as an industrial sector but also as a tool for expressing cultural and landscape heritage, bridging culture, tradition, and modern industrial production within an ideal network of exchange and vision. ARACNE brings together 11 partners and 3 associated partners from 7 European and non-European countries, fostering international collaboration. Here are some of our specific objectives: 📚 Knowledge and memory enhancement: reviving the European silk innovation ecosystem. 🎨 Human-centric silk-based creative solutions: leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies. 💼 Innovative strategies and business models: paving the way for cultural and creative organizations. 🌍 Establishing a European Silk Road: celebrating silk's tangible and intangible cultural heritage. 📢 Raising awareness: advocating for the importance of the silk industry in Europe. 🏛️ Strengthening European cultural identity and competitiveness for a resilient post-crisis society. ♻️ Implementing the European Green Deal, New European Bauhaus, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Stay tuned for updates, and join us in weaving the future of silk together! European Commission | European Research Executive Agency (REA) Our partners: CREA Ricerca | Iniziativa | L.E.P.L.
