3” pot. NBS Miniature to small sized Peruvian species blooms in spring on long spikes held well above the leaves.
Flowers are large and showy, vivid red in color, and produced successively from the spike.
One of the few masdevallias that is truly heat tolerant. Nice species!
M. ayabacana has a REALLY big, intensely colored flower which makes it popular as a species and as a parent in many hybrids.
