Many (most?) miniature orchids grow high up in the canopy, therefore freshly fallen trees are a great place to look for them. That said, I will remove the geotag of every miniature orchid found, as these are actively poached from the wild.<br />

Pleurothallis barbulata, the Small Beard Pleurothallis, is a bonnet orchid in the Pleurothallis genus. Found in Nayarit, Oaxaca and Chiapas states of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela in rainforests on very thin branches at elevations of 150 to 2000 meters.
