Students of classes ninth and eleventh were made to write exam on the school's rooftop in MP's Tikamgarh district.

Mohangarh Senior Secondary School in Madhya Pradesh's Tikamgarh district places academics a notch higher than sports- quite literally.

Students of classes ninth and eleventh were made to write exam on the school rooftop as their classrooms were used to lodge participants of a volleyball tournament.

The three-day Sunil Nayak Memorial Volley ball tournament and MLA cup that began on February 6 was held as scheduled despite clashing with exam dates of February 2-26.

This volleyball tournament is organised every year in the memory of BJP leader Sunil Nayak, who served in the Uma Bharti cabinet.

Though, teachers and students have long been complaining about the problems they face due to the tournament- the authorities have reportedly been ignoring their pleas due to a local MLA's interest in the event.

According to reports, a dance and music festival was also held in the school ground while the students struggled to write their exams.

But, district education officer BL Lahuria says that he is unaware of any such tournament or about examinations being held on the roof.

"No one sought permission from us for organising the tournament... We will now look into how the permission was given for the tournament at a time when Class 9 and Class 11 exams were being held," he told India Today.
