The Dhar district education officer has initiated an enquiry against a private school in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly expelling two girls because they were from Nepal. The enquiry was initiated after the two students raised a complaint with the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

According to Dhar district education Mangesh Vyas, an enquiry has been initiated against Eminent Public School on the Mandoo Road following a complaint by the two girls.

"The two girls in their complaint alleged that they were hounded in their school and were called Nepalis. They reported this to their father when he went to the school and there was some argument. The school in response issued transfer certificates in the name of the two girls," Vyas said.

The father of the two girls, Narbahadur, alleged that his daughters were turned away from the school just because of their place of origin.

"My daughters complained to me that they were hounded and teased in school after which I went to the school authorities. My third daughter is also in the same school but the management instead of listening to my complaint issued transfer certificates for two of my daughters," Narbahadur said.

The school principal Dr P Bhuvendram, however, denied that the two girls were asked to leave because they were from Nepal.

"The action against the two students was taken because their father came to school in an enraged state and physically assaulted a teacher," Bhuvendram said.
