Catasetum of questionable parentage

This was sold to me as Ctsm, schunkei, the only picture I can find of schunkei is this one

Here are the pictures of my plant:

I believe it is a cross of Ctsm saccatum x rolfenianum, pics of each can be found here (thanks to Mark)

I believe it's a cross and not just saccatum because the top petals on mine were fused as in the rolfenianum, and not separate and distinct as in the saccatum.

I really do like the flower, but I'm disappointed that it's not what that 1 schunkei is shown as. Mine also has a nice light minty-toothpaste kind of smell.

In another twist, for those truly interested, I wonder if the pic of schunkei is actually a gladiatorium:

One final note, if you remember Kevin's ctsm posts (his is saccatum), his spiked in late winter/early spring if I recall correctly. When I picked this up at the GNYOS (preordered!), it had had it's leaves and roots cut off, and had a new nub growing. Well, that nub turned out to be the spike, and I'll bet they snipped the leaves and roots, if not for dormancy, than for US import (all OK by me, and expected). So I am now hoping to have a new growth this fall/winter, and then maybe another spike in the spring.

What do you all think?

Carolyn
