Hi, WC, thanks for the tip. Would make a lovely Mother's Day gift in bloom. Sogo Grape is certainly one of the very beautiful shiny/waxy "novelty" phals available right now.

'Fireball' is very beautiful clone, a very shiny/waxy dark dark red with almost no purple in it. For people on a budget, the 'Fireball' clone is also available in 3" size at Oak Hill for $15. Parkside has it, too.

It must be very popular-- Parkside sold out of it, and just got in a new order. I'll bet they sell out very fast to foot traffic when in bloom.

I got two from Oak Hill in spike in the fall, and they've been in bloom ever since.

Hausermann's also is offering the 'Y.N' awarded clone in 3" for $15. Y.N. is the purple/magenta usually pictured, also very shiny/waxy. I've been watching for that clone, and gobbled up two of them as well while they're around.

I love my Phal. Sogo Grape. The same flowers have been on the spike for over 2 months & 2 more buds have opened! There is another spike that is slowly developing buds on the opposite side of the current inflorescence. I love the heavy waxy ness & the deep reddish color. Mine also has a light scent in the mornings.
