Fila Signs World No. 2 Barbora Krejcikova, Reveals Paris Collection

Following

Fila remains near the top of women's tennis with the signing of World No. 2 Barbora Krejcikova. Following the retirement of World No. 1 Ash Barty, who remains a Fila brand ambassador, the heritage tennis brand was ready to add another top-flight player to its roster that already includes World No. 6 Karolina Pliskova. Now Fila has the two top Czech players in the game.

"It is an honor to step onto the court and represent a brand with such an iconic history in the game," Krejcikova says. "I am grateful to Fila for the support and the opportunity to join the elite group of athletes who have worn the brand."

Krejcikova, 26, will make her Fila debut in Paris when she returns to defend her 2021 French Open title at Roland Garros, her first singles major championship. Also the current World No. 3 in doubles and a former doubles World No. 1, Krejcikova will have double-duty in defending 2021 French Open titles. She won the 2021 French Open with partner Katerina Siniakova. The pair followed up the 2021 French Open victory with the doubles title at the Australian Open this past January. The powerful doubles team had previously won two majors, both the French Open and Wimbledon, giving Krejcikova four women's doubles title along with her three mixed doubles major wins. Krejcikova and Siniakova also won the gold medal in Tokyo.

"Barbora has made incredible strides to elevate her game over the last few seasons," says Gene Yoon, global chairman at Fila. "Her rise to a top-five ranked player in singles and doubles has been both impressive and inspiring, as she has worked to cement herself among WTA's top stars. We are thrilled to welcome Barbora to the Fila family, as we continue our legacy of sponsoring champions on and off the court."

The eight-time major singles and doubles champion also signed a new management deal with Octagon Tennis. Octagon was instrumental in securing the on-court clothing and footwear sponsorship deal between Krejcikova and Fila.

Krejcikova, who switches from wearing Head apparel and footwear on court, says she had been thinking about securing a specialist to help her with her marketing goals and partnering with Octagon will allow her to grow her brand.

As Fila players continue wearing the Bevans Park Collection, they will transition—including Krejcikova—to the Center Court spring tennis collection in Paris. Krejcikova will select from a variety of pieces that span the collection's colorful array, including pink and blue. The collection also features a "galaxy print" with black and white.

The defending champion plans a pink racerback tank with a pleated skort and a white racerback tank with "evening primrose" coloring and a galaxy print skort. Pliskova will don a cami tank or galaxy print racerback, both worn with a skort. The collection also includes a dress, jacket and pants.

For the men, John Isner, Reilly Opelka, Sam Querrey and Diego Schwartzman will show off shorts, short-sleeve crews and polos and a long-sleeve Henley in the galaxy print, pink, "primrose" and blue.

New colorways of the Axilus 2 Energized on-court sneaker add to the Center Court Collection.
