I have owned one for 10 years. --- This is a small sensor camera - size 1/2.3 inch. This means it has all the problems associated with decade old small CCD sensor digicams - noisy pictures above 400asa, very limited dynamic range, no shallow depth of field, limited video capabilities.....on paper a modern smartphone has better spec's... But - it has advantages too: [1] a small electronic viewfinder rare on old digicams - NB - but only low resolution [2] a "superzoom" range [3] it can shoot in RAW format - amazing for a decade old digicam - but on processing don't actually deliver much better than the camera set to fine JPG conversion [4] has good image stabilisation [5] made of plastic and very lightweight - but prone to camera shake [6] takes SD cards, not obsolete XD or CF types [7] looks a bit like a DSLR - but smaller [8] In good light - takes excellent 6x4 and 7x5 size pictures [9] in poor light the "grainy black and white" scene setting gives atmospheric. grainy images that look good straigt out of the camera [10] it can shoot an HDR bracket sequence over 3-stops As a holiday point and shoot it is good - but is too big to be put in a pocket. The latest "bridge cameras" now have largely resolved the problems with much larger sensors that deliver better image quality and depth of field...but cost a lot more. Read full review

Personally I like the light weight (plastic) body, I am old and can no longer cope comfortably with heavy equipment. It is probably less durable than metal bodied cameras, but it is also less expensive, and I hope that its components are recyclable.
