I bought this as a present for my brother, who at the age of 79 wanted to take up digital photography. (His old box brownie had finally bit the dust!!) My wife had actually had the very same model from when it was first on sale.(about 10 years ago) I have had several semi pro digital cameras over the years but use my wife's Fiji quite often as it is so compact and can be stashed in ones pocket easily. I have been very impressed with the quality of the results and tend to use it more or less all the time now. Build quality is excellent and the features such as macro mode, video and iso selection along with a refreshing amount of simplicity made it an easy choice to buy for a digital virgin. I can recommend it highly.
For a camera of this size and cost I am very impressed with it . I have had one of these for 8 years and it still works well, the battery still performs well . the only thing any camera with this lens size can beat this one with is the ability to do continuous rapid shooting .this camera has not got that function. Like any camera this size it will not get very good pictures in the dark , night time city scapes etc for that you need a large lens, but within the realms of what a compact pocket camera can do I cant fault it.
