I purchased this camera several years ago at a retail store for about $200, and was thoroughly impressed with it's multiple features. It takes great pictures with many different mode possibilities. It can take videos (mpeg) as well. I recorded my son's college graduation ceremony, and it turned out good, even though it was inside with low light. If you take a lot of movies, you should invest in a memory stick with more memory (I have a 256 which suits me fine). It fits in my hands perfectly. Recently, I accidentally dropped my camera while using it, and now the lens will not open. I purchased two of the exact same cameras on ebay, and I havent't been disappointed. I was able to buy 2 for less than $125, and now I have a spare one. I keep it in a Sony camera case made specifically for the Cyber-shot, which helps protect the camera, but it's very pricey. The only negative feature, I feel, is the zoom. It's only 3x, and a little more would be nice. Maybe my next one will have more zoom. It's a great camera with a lot of useful features, and I would recommend it to anyone.Read full review
I bought an used digital still camera DSC-P72 on e-bay and I loved it. I think this camera is very robust and easy to use, being indicated for beginners, but it have several features and can be used for advanced photographers too, with good pictures. Its memory can be increased inserting memory stick duo, and it is very nice too. Well, overall I recommend its purchasing, good value to price.
I love this camera. We have had our Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 for just over a year now. It is wonderful because you can easily go from taking still digital pictures to digital movies with sound. Plus it takes away all of the hassel of having to deal with film. Below I listed my top pros and cons of the camera: Pros: Pictures and movies in one, pictures come out great (4X6), easy to send and share photos, easy to operate, battery life is great (with Sony batteries), and the memory stick allows for a ton of photos and movies. I have a 128 mb (luxar) stick and it stores multiple movies and about 85-90 pics. Cons: The shutter time is long so if you are trying to take a picture right after another it doesn't work, you have to wait about 3-4 seconds....bad if you have babies! Only Sony batteries work well. I tried to use a cheaper brand of recharcheable batteries but, they just don't last very long...so I've stuck to the manufacturers suggestion of using Sony batteries and they got me all the way through vacation! Overall this is the best camera I've ever had!Read full review
this is an excellent camera - it has a beautiful picture resolution and is easy to use. Great zoom features. I picked it up and was able to figure it out in about a minute even without the mannual. It is also "plug & play" - I plugged it in and my computer recognized it immediately(I have windows XP). I highly recommend this camera. The only draw back is that you have to delete each photo or movie individually that you cannot just delete the entire card all at once - which may not be a problem for most people but it is a little inconvenient for me because I mainly use this for posting photos on ebay.
I love this camera, the picture has a very nice quality. Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-P32 is one of three new point-and-shoot, 3.2 Megapixel digital still cameras offered for 2003. The DSC-P72 is the top of the line in this series with a 3x optical zoom, the P32 has a fixed focal length lens and the P52 has a 2x optical zoom. New features include: MPEG VX movie mode which generates high quality VGA-size (640x480) motion video at 16fps with audio. The length of each movie is limited only by the amount of available memory. There are two new program scene modes; Beach scene emphasizes the natural color of the water, Snow scene is used when photographing a predominantly white scene; such as a snow scape. All of Sony's new 2003 cameras are compatible with the faster and higher-capacity Memory Stick Pro flash memory cards. For reliable, long-lasting operation, The CyberShot DSC-P32 is supplied with two 2100mAH rechargeable nickel metal hydride AA batteries and a charger.Read full review
