Bought this to go into a MPK-PHB Sony 40M Marine Housing (less than $15 each) so that I have an inexpensive dive-camera option. A new housing for a new camera would be hundreds of dollars (e.g. the cheapest housing I know of for the Sony DSC-RX100, which I also have, is $200, for a $700 camera. The Ikelite housing for the DSC-RX100 is $500) so this is good enough for casual diving to deeper depths. I also have a Nikon AW-100 which is a much much better (and much newer) camera, but the AW-100 only goes to 10 meters deep, but the MPK-PHB housing with the DSC-P150 goes to 40 meters. It's a good little camera, typical of it's age (introduced in 2004), smaller than most and with quality Zeiss optics. Smaller than many more modern cameras, this one is a little reminiscent of the teensy Sony DSC-U30 which I also have. No special reason for you to get this particular camera unless you can also find the official sony marine housing and get both for $50 or so.Read full review
I use it in an underwater housing for coral reef survey work. Its rapid processing of images, long battery life (cannot change a battery underwater, and incidentally, I am still using batteries from the previous model of this camera that still carry a 2.5 hr charge - amazing) and compact size make it a wonderful camera for this task. It allows manual control of settings which is very important for some circumstances. The small screen is a disadvantage but I have a small magnifying lens on my mask that compensates for that. It came with a Cyber-shot Station which is very convenient.

It was shipped very quickly. The pictures are nice and sharp. Camera is in excellent shape. Price was very good for a six year old camera. And I intend to enjoy taking some nice pictures. My old camera ate batteries like no tomorrow and the door to the batteries would no longer stay shut. YUCK. I have a camera like this at work (a little newer) and that's why I looked for a Sony Cybershot. It's convenient and easy to use with great results!
Excellent, like new one, i need this model in particular for my scuba diving MPK PHB Sony box for this camera, my old camera was broken, and i dont need to buy a new camera and box for 300€, just need to buy the same model camera for least than 30€,great value for money, excellent condition like new, with a new battery, dont need to expend more money for a diving camera, only used in holidays, as i said excellent value for money.
As of today, May 14, 2009, this camera out performs those of the new cameras in stores today. I went to buy a new camera, prepared to spend up to $500, and discovered the new digital cameras on the market today do not have the "Micro" setting. They changed the M setting to manual. The Micro setting as this one has allows me to shoot close up high resolution images such as jewelry, diamonds, etc. This camera I highly recommend. I've purchased two used on eBay and new old stock is still available. A great camera.
