About this product

Product Information

Take professional-quality photographs with the Nikon D100 digital camera. Capture the moment forever with the 3-D Digital Matrix Image Control function. This function provides precise exposure control, optimal color accuracy, and adaptive auto white balance capabilities. Combined with the 6.1-megapixel sensor resolution, your photos always feature great depth and quality, whether viewing prints or on a computer screen. Weighing in at 24.7 ounces, the camera is both compact and lightweight for the photographer on the go. A low-noise CCD sensor is built-in to the Nikon D100 single-lens reflex (SLR) digital camera. This feature ensures you always have quiet shutter activities, avoiding disruptions when taking that one-in-a-million shot. Three color mode metering options allow for different workflow environments. This model camera does allow for auto-focus capabilities as well as manual. With the CompactFlash memory card installed in the camera, you always have enough space to store your memorable pictures. The plug-and-play USB 1.1 interface that is designed into the camera body means quick computer connection for easy and fast camera-to-computer transferring. The Nikon D100 SLR and digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera models are built for accommodation. With shutter speeds that are within the same range of other D1 model cameras with similar ISO values from makers, such as Canon and Fujifilm, you are able to achieve speeds of 1/4000-per-second and flash sync speeds of up to 1/180-per-second, capturing all of the action. Choose from a variety of Nikkor and other branded lenses, software, and USB plug-in accessories to take your photographic skills to their max level. The menu on these digital cameras gives you the ability to adjust the flash with every push of the button and ensure the image quality meets your expectations. Never wait to get a glimpse of your photographs. With the 1.8-inch LCD monitor found on the camera, create custom settings and view the results as needed. You also have the ability to discard any photos that don’t meet your approval without cluttering your camera’s storage. On-demand grid lines are displayable in the viewfinder function and make proofing easy right from the camera. Taking the perfect shot when it comes to photography is just the beginning when it comes to selecting the right digital cameras on the market. With this Nikon model SLR camera, you get features including voice memo recording and playback, vertical shutter release button functions, command and sub command dials built-in, an AF start button, as well as a 10pin remote terminal. With optional wide focal length lenses, capture broad angle photographs to ensure you get the right image every time. For extended shooting times, take advantage of the optional multi-function battery pack that is available for purchase separately. This MB-D100 battery pack works with six 1.5-volt or AA-size alkaline batteries. It is also possible for you to install one or two lithium ion batteries to keep the shots coming. Nikon’s View 5.1 software, which is another option available, allows for easy transferring and viewing of all images you take. Transfer your photographs to a computer with the USB cable and put the rudimentary RAW file manipulation and conversion functions to work for you. Whether the idea of using all of your favorite lenses or accessing trusted ISO value cameras appeals to you, you are sure to enjoy the photos that the Nikon D100 SLR camera delivers. From generous product specifications to the ability to adjust the type of flash that is used, the functions that are available are ideal for the beginning photographer to the novice professional.

Super seller! Perfectly packed pristine product that arrived early in as-described condition. This seller's competitive pricing made this Tascam MD-801R an outstanding value thanks to their detailed description and excellent communication. I was hopeful that I could bring the unit back to full function with only a good cleaning and loading belt replacement. The inspection revealed black goo for a belt and with a bit of careful cleaning and a new belt I have a really nice fully functional unit!

    Seriously great colors

This camera, while quite dated, produces really beautiful colors. I started looking into one for astrophotography because it filters less IR and UV light, but unfortunately the sensor gets *extremely* noisy past 10 second exposure times. Taking photos outside on a nice clear day, though, is where it shines. If you're looking to take up photography as a hobby on the cheap (I got mine for $20 plus another 20 for a new battery and memory card) this is absolutely the camera to do it. The resolution is low by today's standard and it's now almost 15 years old, but with today's photo sharing social media image compression and resizing it can keep up well enough for hobbyists. Gorgeous pictures.

  • Cheap workhorse that's fun to shoot with and sure to improve your skills!

The Nikon D100 is an overlooked camera. Sure, it lacks in features that the D200, 300 and 90 have, it cycles slowly, it only has 6 MP, etc. Oh and as stated by other reviews, the screen on the back is inaccurate and the image is always slightly over or underexposed than it really is. However, once you figure out how to use it, it's a solid workhorse that's great to shoot with. It takes a bit more know-how than cameras like the D40, D50 and the D70, but then again practicing and relying less on auto functions make you a much better photographer. Tips: - I shoot a lot of low-light/evening photography and do not go over ISO 800, which might be a drawback for some folks (and is for me, but that just means I need a tripod or need to think about my images more) - Bracketing is a good ...

  • A great value for a truly professional camera

Ok,so, first of all, I am not a professional photographer, barely an amateur ... My experience with Nikon camera is limited only to a Nikon D50 that I got from a friend. I am amazed at all the features this camera has. It is also very rugged and feels great in my hands, buy maybe a little bulky if I were to take it with me on a trip somewhere. For every day picture needs (Facebook mostly), my iPhone does a great job. I got this camera to use in my little studio setup to take artistic pictures for my web site. Compared with my Sony NEX VG10 and my iPhone, this camera has something different. The colors are warmer, more artistic, even if the pixel count is way lower. In my limited experience, a Nikon camera will give you better pictures than any other consumer camera (I never tried Canon, ...

  • Nikon D100.

Bad: Other than the slow wake up when I turn the camera on, It does everything I wanted it to do as a backup camera for when I didn't need my D800. Good: Picture quality is superb. I know the camera is 12 years old and there are many nice smaller cameras but it has all the same features and functions of my other cameras although the image quality is slightly less. At 6 mb per pic I still get all the data I need for making large prints.

  • Great product, but not for beginners!!!

The D100 is a fantastic camera that holds it's own against modern cameras with regards to image quality. I purchased this camera as a second camera to compliment images taken with my Nikon D200. There are a few problems with the D100 that make correct exposure difficult to obtain. The image screen displays images that look overexposed though the image is actually is underexposed. The histogram will sometimes show a flat line indicating little or no detail. As a wedding photographer is find it best to use the flashing overexposure warning and find I can achieve best exposures is a small amount of the Bride's dress is flashing overexposed. I shoot in RAW so I can bring back a little bit of lost detail. Once it is understood how to achieve correct exposure images stand up ...
