    Best For A Firs Camera

    I know but this me venturing into the domain of DSLR. First of all its light weight and easy to use. Yes it is 10 megapixels but its fine for now and takes excellent images. Only for images some are darker than usual but could be the settings which I have not gone into. I am pleased with my purchaswe which came with two batteries and it has A mount lense so it works with my old SLR lenses which i am well pleased.

    Fun little camera

    This is a very easy camera to use. Even though it's only 10 mp it takes nice pictures of my 1/16 scale custom models and for an older model it has some nice features. I would definitely recommend this product and the seller everything is just as stated. A++++

    I have no reservations about recomending this camera to a potential buyer.

    I was pleasantly surprised with the Sony a230, although I probably should have expected a good camera knowing that allot of Konica Minolta back bone goes into producing the Alpha series. When you marry that with Sony ingenuity, it's hard not to have a solid picture taking device. The a30 delivers on many promises. It takes really nice photos and is easy to use. It is compact and does not weigh much but maintains a nice organic feel while in the users hands. It would have been a perfect entry level unit had "live view" or "live preview" been included in the list of features along with video capture. All things said, this camera is a great value, you will not be disappointed.

    Sony alpha: the new kid shines .

    Had no previous experience with the Sony Alpha system of photography and with the possibility of converting Leica R lenses to use with Sony Alpha MOunt I had just one more reason to check it out . It turns out that the system is very competitive with all on its own . I knew and expected Sony excellence,a certain Sony signature of quality , and was not disappointed. Great colors. Smart arrangement of menus makes setting parameters a breeze . Later I bought a kit lens 18-55mm and it's a winner and also bought Minolta lenses that too work well . Minolta was an excellent lens conjurer and they still shine in Sony cameras . Converted an Elmarit 35R to the mount and it feeds that sensor plenty information to make for a crips picture .     Loving it! Great value on an entry level DSLR.

    I've had some experience with DSLR's but never owned one myself and as an entry-level DSLR this Alpha is perfect. For the money it has excellent features, takes great shots, is fairly light weight and pretty easy to use. The on screen menus and tips make things simple. If you are wanting to make that jump from point and shoot to DSLR this is a great starting point.
