The S7000 utilizes Fujifilm's 4th Generation Super CCD HR with 6.3 million effective pixels and 12.3 million recorded pixels (4048x3040). The FinePix S7000 has a bright F2.8 Super EBC (Electron Beam Coating) Fujinon 6X (35-210mm) optical zoom lens with a 13-step aperture and high speed focusing. Up to 800 ISO at 1, 2, or 3 MegaPixels is possible with minimal electronic noise, and digital movies with sound at full VGA resolution (30 fps) is also possible. A new 235,000 pixel electronic viewfinder greatly improves viewfinder performance over previous models. Other features include: Dual media slots for xD Picture Card and MicroDrive, a manual focus/zooming adjustment lens ring, full manual exposure and aperture or shutter priority, AE scene modes, custom white balance, hot shoe mount. The S7000 supports CCD-RAW and JPEG file formats and connects to your computer via USB 2.

Simple High Quality Digital Photography
The Fujifilm Finepix S7000 is simple to use and has lots of features. It is compact and the controls are easy to find. Changing shooting modes is a snap. There are no expensive special batteries it just uses four AA in alkaline or rechargeable (preferred). I have other digital cameras that are more expensive mirrorless and DSLR's and I prefer to use the S7000 because it is so user friendly it is like and old friend.The Fujifilm Finepix S7000 is simple to use and has lots of features. This camera has blori screen and is by luck Working. Sometimes good and sometimes Black picture. I had exactly same model camera and after few years got same problem and they are not going to fix it because part is more expensive than camera Now. Anyway I didn't pay to much just we trust you and is better check it and than sell it the item. Thanks

An excellent alternative to a DSLR.
I have been using my S7000 for at least 7 years. It provides great photos using the Auto setting, especially in low light situations. I have taken beautiful sunrise and sunset shots with it in Auto mode. My wife is constantly amazed at the quality of the photos that this camera takes; she's an artist and has some training in photography. I haven't used my Olympus OM-1, 35mm since buying this camera. I love taking photos and downloading them as soon as I get home; a card reader is perfect for this little task. The S7000 was designed for easy access to remove the memory cards for this purpose, too. Open the door, press the card and it pops out a little bit. Grab it and stick it in the card reader and the rest is up to you and your photo software. After downloading the photos, remove it from ... I have been using my S7000 for at least 7 years. It is a versatile camera, allowing the user to choose between Auto, Potrait, Scenery, Aperature priority and Manual settings. It has decent zoom capabilities as well as two Macro modes. The S7000's major fault is the photo quality in bright light situations, but you have the option of going to Aperature Priority and stopping it down, which produses fine results. One reviewer commented on how quickly it goes through batteries and how it shuts itself off in the middle of your shot. I use 2700 MAH Nickel Metal Hydride rechargables and have been very satisfied with the battery life. The same reviewer complained of the media size. All I can say is this reviewer doesn't know his cameras. The S7000 uses the very common XD cards as well as the Compact Flash Type II card which I have never needed to use. With a 256 MB XD card you can shoot, 169 shots in 6MP, 332 shots in 3MP, 409 shot in 2MP and 550 shots in 1MP mode! Who goes out and shoots 680 frames at one time any way? That's what the 1GB card will hold in 6MP mode. I have 128 MB, 256 MB and 1GB memory cards. For most purposes the 3MP setting gives fine resolution and is large enough to fill your monitor screen and then some. Another feature of the S7000 is the capability to shoot video with sound. I have used this feature very little, but it is kinda fun to shoot video and then make a movie using Windows Movie Maker. Late last year, I had to have my camera repaired, because it was producing bright pink backgrounds in all of my shots. Fujfilm repaired it and sent it back to me in timely fashion and for a reasonable repair charge. All in all it has been a great camera.

I've had one of these cameras for 7 years now. I have taken tons of pics, and have had great success with it. Learning the manual controls on this were a snap, and it was a fun camera to grow into. I am currently in the need of a replacement, as mine has a small speck in the middle of the CCD or lens inside, and I dont want to pay to have it fixed or take it apart and not get it back together just to find out what it is. Also, my flash is no longer working. I cant even get to the manual flash controls, so I suspect a main board issue now too. Now, the person who has said this camera eats batteries. YES and NO. There are two versions of this camera. One that was sold in the U.S., and another overseas. I had bought mine in the US Virgin Islands, but apparently it came from the UK. The ... The overseas version had a defect in either the software or whatever, but it would indeed suck through AAA batteries like nothing, WHEN it was also using Compact Flash cards as its storage medium. If you used the XD flash cards, you never had an issue. It only became apparent if you used the compact flash cards and your camera was one of the ones affected. That is really the only issue. If you use this, get the Lithium AAA batteries, they are worth the extra price as they last a long time. Regular cheapos will tend to last only a shoot or two. (couple hundred pics).

I've had this for over 5 years. The complains about battery life can usually be traced to using a microdrive or a memory card in an adaptor that doesn't follow full industry spec and continues to draw current when the camera is turned off. The camera does shut off quickly in the default mode but this can be reset in the menu if you take the time to read the manual. There is some minor barrel distortion at the extreme of the zoom, but the color and exposure the camera sets on auto are marvelous. I do find it irritating that if you are using a screw on telephoto you must reset the camera for it in the menu each time you turn it on. You can lose a good pic having to do that. Birds for example don't sit around waiting for you to set your camera.I've had this for over 5 years.
