In addition, the Digimax S600 has a 3X optical and 5X digital zoom giving 15X total zoom when combined.The Digimax S600 has a large 2.4" LCD for improved contrast and color reproduction, allowing you to enjoy a wider and clearer image.When it is set to Auto Mode, the Digimax S600 automatically adjusts the shooting distance and focus from between 5cm to infinity, helping the picture taker to get better pictures more easily. The user does not need to activate the macro function separately in order to take pictures as close as 5cm.The Digimax S600 has some intriguing special effect functions - including Highlight, Photo Frame, and Composite Shot - that give you unique, and sometimes amusing, shooting experiences beyond conventional picture-taking. You can access each of these special effects with just one touch of the "E" button.The user-friendly ergonomic body design delivers comfort and a steady hold for better shots. This means you can expect even better focus no matter where your subject is in the frame.Digimax S600 has various scene modes to obtain the best picture result in a variety of settings. The scene modes provided are Night scene, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach and Snow.The family-friendly mode dials - with Night, Portrait and Children modes - make it easier to get great shots of the family by giving in stand access to the appropriate mode for each individual situation. Children mode, with its open aperture and fast shutter speeds, lets you 'freeze' children in fast moving action shots. Night mode automatically uses the slow synchronization function to help you get clearer and brighter pictures at night. When using Portrait mode, you get more pleasing people pictures with improved redeye reduction.The Digimax S600's print button makes direct printing easier than ever. Simply connect the S600 to any PictBridge compatible photo printer, press the illuminated print button and print! Also use the button to transfer images directly to a computer.

Smart easy to use small camera
I've purchased 2 of these in the last week because I've been so impressed. One is for fishing a 5mp and the other for taking pics of my kids 6mp next model up. They use a 1gb sd card which takes over 300 photos on a 5 or 6 mp setting. They use 2 aa battery. Better than my fujifilm finepix s5000 camera

The Samsung S600 is a fair camera which takes pleasant pictures for the price of the unite. What I like about the unite is its ease of use simple for the first timer to digital photography. I have a canon a560 which is cool but rather bulky so the Samsung comes out on top fits strait into your pocket. Not the largest of screens and some times not the definition....but when uploaded pictures are on the pc they often look sharp and in good contrast Only thing that lets it down is in the low light in which it struggles a bit, and of course no view finder which in bright sunlight is handy. But if you want a cheap good working tool I would recommend the Samsung S600 or S range. Thanks for reading my review ....
