New Kodak Easyshare CX7530 and CX7330 Digital Cameras Make “Going Digital” a Snap

Simplicity Ideal for “Point-and-Shoot” Photographers; Multiple On-Camera Features Provide Creative Options for More Experienced Picture-Takers
CX7330
Hemel Hempstead, May 4 — Eastman Kodak Company today introduced two additions to its point-and-shoot line of consumer digital cameras, the Kodak Easyshare CX7530 and Kodak Easyshare CX7330 zoom digital cameras. The Easyshare CX7530 camera is ideal for the digital photographer who wants great photos, one-touch picture taking simplicity, plus a degree of creative flexibility. It offers 5-megapixel (MP) resolution for rich photographic detail as well as the ability to enlarge photos up to 20 x 30 inches, a 3X optical zoom lens, an exclusive on-camera “Share” button and integrated digital photo album, and multiple pre-set scene modes. The CX7530 camera will be available from the beginning of July 2004 at a suggested retail price of just £249.99.

Combining fully automatic point-and-shoot convenience with 3-megapixel resolution and a 3X optical zoom lens, the Easyshare CX7330 digital camera makes taking and sharing high quality pictures one-touch simple. The CX7330 digital camera will be available in June 2004 for £149.99 RRP.

“Easyshare CX cameras give busy parents exactly what they need to capture both everyday and special family moments, then share them on the camera’s LCD screen, in an e-mail, or with a Kodak print,” said Greg Westbrook, general manager of digital capture for Kodak’s Digital & Film Imaging Systems operation. “These models are the ideal blend of simplicity, performance, and value. Take into account the included Kodak Easyshare software, and you have a full digital photography system.”

The Easyshare CX7530 camera was developed to give people the outstanding picture quality of a well-designed 5 MP camera coupled with Kodak’s legendary ease of operation. The CX7530 camera incorporates a KODAK RETINAR all-glass, aspherical, 3X optical zoom lens; 5X advanced digital zoom, and multi-zone auto-focus system for crisp prints that look as good in a frame as they do taped to the refrigerator. Nine picture modes including night, close-up, landscape, black and white and sepia are easily accessible, making it simple to shoot in various situations. The camera also includes Kodak Color Science technology to produce realistic, outstanding pictures even in difficult lighting conditions, and PICTBRIDGE compatibility for printing without a computer.

The Easyshare CX7530 camera also includes Kodak’s new ‘camera favorites’ feature. With a touch of the red-jeweled Share button, people can store multiple pictures in an on-camera digital album. These pictures can then be shared anytime on the camera’s large, 1.8-inch, high-resolution (134,000 pixels) indoor/outdoor LCD screen. The Share button also allows someone to immediately select photos for printing and even e-mailing, with up to 32 e-mail addresses stored in the camera’s memory

For settings requiring more than a still image, the CX7530 camera can capture TV- quality video (VGA; 640 x 480 pixels), with capacity dependent on available memory (32MB internal memory included; additional memory may be added via the SD card/MultiMediaCard expansion slot). Automatic picture rotation makes pictures taken vertically appear right side up on the camera, computer screen or television. In addition, the camera is always ready to snap a picture by simply depressing the shutter button, regardless of which capture mode or menu is active — a feature unique to Easyshare cameras.

The CX7330 digital camera provides picture takers with 3 MP resolution, a 3X optical Kodak Retinar aspheric all-glass zoom lens, 3.3X advanced digital zoom, Kodak Color Science technology, multi-zone auto focus, auto-rotation, and 16 MB of internal memory. A press of the CX6330 camera’s exclusive red-jeweled “Share” button allows a person to immediately review and designate pictures for printing and e-mailing on the 1.6-inch indoor/outdoor LCD screen. The screen’s size and bright display make it simple to share pictures with others on the camera itself, even in direct sunlight.

For capturing moving images, the CX7330 camera also features video capture and playback capability. Video length is dependent on available memory; additional memory can be added via the SD card/MultiMediaCard expansion slot.

Kodak Easyshare software and docks
The Kodak Easyshare printer dock (£149.99 RRP) is the simplest way to create beautiful, borderless Kodak 4 x 6-inch pictures at home without a computer. The redesigned, portable dock is compatible with all Kodak Easyshare CX/DX 6000/7000 and LS 600/700 series cameras, PICTBRIDGE-enabled cameras from various manufacturers, and most memory card formats (with an optional KODAK 8-in-1 memory card reader).

The dock provides a full camera battery charge in less than 3.5 hours, plus battery reconditioning for improved performance. When connected to a computer, the printer dock also permits rapid, one-touch transfer of digital pictures to a hard drive. Battery recharging and one-touch transfer is also available via the optional Easyshare camera dock (£49.99 RRP).

Like all Easyshare cameras, both CX models include Kodak Easyshare software for Windows and Macintosh systems, providing effortless digital picture transfer, organization, basic editing, sharing and printing. The software’s exclusive One Touch to Better Pictures feature — which takes advantage of proprietary color technologies developed by Kodak — helps WINDOWS OS users get vibrant, true-to-life prints from home inkjet printers, while significantly reducing the trial, error and waste usually associated with home photo printing.

The award-winning Kodak Easyshare consumer digital photography system — consisting of cameras, software, printer docks and camera docks, inkjet and thermal papers, and accessories — makes it simple for anyone to take, organize, share and print high quality digital pictures.
