CX 7300

ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 2 — Building upon its popular EASYSHARE consumer digital photography system, Eastman Kodak Company today introduced three new digital cameras in the EASYSHARE CX line: the CX7430 camera, with 4 megapixel (MP) resolution and 3X optical zoom; the CX7300 camera, with 3 MP resolution and a fixed-focus lens; and the CX7220 camera, with 2 MP resolution and 2X optical zoom. All offer one-touch picture sharing, outstanding picture quality and Kodak’s hallmark simplicity of operation.

EASYSHARE camera owners can quickly select pictures for printing and e-mail — with up to 32 e-mail addresses stored right on the camera — with a touch of the exclusive, red-jeweled “Share” button. The CX7430 model also integrates Kodak’s new camera favourites feature for storing multiple pictures in an on-camera digital photo album. Each picture can then be shared anytime on the camera’s 4-centimetre indoor/outdoor LCD screen, or printed in as little as 90 seconds with the KODAK EASYSHARE printer dock 6000.

“Life moves at an incredibly fast pace these days, so capturing both everyday and once-in-a-lifetime moments with a digital picture becomes all the more important,” said Rowan Lawson, director of worldwide digital product marketing for Kodak’s Digital & Film Imaging Systems operation. “The newest additions to the KODAK EASYSHARE CX camera line give mums and others on the run great looking pictures without hassle, all at an affordable price. Whether those pictures are shared on the camera’s LCD screen, e-mailed, or printed, they’ll bring smiles to the faces of friends and family for years to come.”

KODAK EASYSHARE CX7430 zoom digital camera
The EASYSHARE CX7430 camera (€339 MSRP) combines fully automatic point-and-shoot convenience — including nine scene and color modes — with 4-megapixel resolution and the new KODAK Color Science image processing chip, resulting in vibrant prints up to 50 x 76 centimetres. Taking advantage of the KODAK RETINAR aspheric, all-glass 3X optical zoom lens, plus selectable exposure metering, ISO equivalents, and focus zones, camera owners can capture breathtaking pictures under multiple lighting conditions.

For capturing more than just still pictures, the CX7430 camera also features TV-quality (VGA) video capture and playback capability, an on-camera speaker, and an 80-minute capacity (dependent on available memory; additional memory can be added via the SD card/ MultiMediaCard expansion slot). Automatic picture rotation makes pictures taken vertically appear right side up on the camera, computer screen or television. In addition, the camera is always ready to snap a picture by simply depressing the shutter button, regardless of which capture mode or menu is active — a feature unique to EASYSHARE cameras.

The KODAK EASYSHARE CX7430 zoom digital camera will be available worldwide beginning in March 2004.

KODAK EASYSHARE CX7300 digital camera
The EASYSHARE CX7300 camera (€159 MSRP) is designed for the entry-level digital photographer. This fun, reliable point-and-shoot digital camera makes sharing and printing high-quality pictures a snap.

Its 3.2-megapixel resolution and 3X digital zoom provide remarkably crisp, vibrant prints up to 28 x 35 centimetres. Additional features make it simple for people to take pictures and video clips in a variety of settings; preview and review their pictures; and share pictures right on the camera, by e-mail, or as prints made at home, online, or at a retail location.

The Kodak EASYSHARE CX7300 digital camera will be available worldwide beginning in March 2004.

KODAK EASYSHARE CX7220 zoom digital camera
The KODAK EASYSHARE CX7220 (€189 MSRP) camera offers great value at an attractive price. The fully automatic, quality point-and-shoot digital camera delivers great prints — up to 20 x 25 centimetres — with 2 MP resolution and 2X optical zoom. Its red-jeweled “Share” button encourages printing, e-mailing, and other tagging (e.g., mark as a favourite), while scenes can be previewed and reviewed on the 4-centimetre LCD screen. The EASYSHARE CX7220 zoom digital camera will be available beginning in May 2004.

KODAK EASYSHARE software and docks
People can also quickly transfer their pictures to a connected computer with just one touch using the optional KODAK EASYSHARE camera dock 6000 (€99 MSRP). The dock also provides a full battery charge for the camera in less than three hours. CX7430, CX7300, and CX7220 digital camera owners can also receive the benefits of a dock, plus real, waterproof KODAK 10 x 15-centimetre prints in as little as 90 seconds, by using the KODAK EASYSHARE printer dock 6000 (€249 MSRP).

Like all EASYSHARE cameras, the new CX models include KODAK EASYSHARE software for WINDOWS and MACINTOSH systems, providing effortless digital picture transfer, organisation, editing, sharing and printing. The software’s exclusive One Touch to Better Pictures feature — which takes advantage of proprietary colour technologies developed by Kodak — helps WINDOWS OS users get vibrant, true-to-life prints from home inkjet printers, while reducing the trial, error and waste usually associated with home photo printing.

The award-winning KODAK EASYSHARE consumer digital photography system — consisting of cameras, software, camera and printer docks, inkjet and thermal papers, and accessories — makes it simple for anyone to take, organise, share, and print high quality digital pictures.
