Nokia 5250 goes official – becomes Nokia’s cheapest touchscreen phone till date

The update to the ill-fated Nokia 5230 is finally here officially, in the form of the Nokia 5250 (even though Nokia was supposed to get rid of its 4 number model naming scheme). The entry-level full-touch phone looks quite good, and is priced at €115, which is approximately $145 or Rs. 6,850, which happens to make it Nokia’s cheapest touchscreen phone to date. In fact, it is €34 cheaper than its predecessor, the Nokia 5230, and to cut costs, Nokia has decided to do away with some features, including A-GPS, and 3G connectivity.

The screen is also smaller, at 2.8-inches compared to the Nokia 5230’s 3.2-inches. Another major incentive to buy the phone will be Guitar Hero 5 Mobile, a game that will come preloaded on it. The Nokia 5250 is hailed as a music phone by Nokia, and will be released sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. Check out the specifications below:
