Meizu is currently holding a press conference in Beijing, and the company has just announced the much rumored M2 Note handset, the successor of the M1 Note which was announced at the end of last year. This device has been leaking for weeks now, and Meizu has just unveiled it. There were not big surprises this time around considering the company’s Vice President actually revealed some details himself, like the fact that the M2 Note will, unlike its predecessor, sport a physical home button. The Meizu M2 Note is yet again a very powerful mid-range handset, let’s see what it has to offer.

The Meizu M2 Note features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IGZO (Sharp) fully laminated display along with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). This handset is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.3GHz along with a Mali-T720 MP3 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.2 aperture) is located on the back of the M2 Note along with a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 5-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 apreture, 69-degree wide-angle lens) is available up front. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this handset with the company’s Flyme UI 4.5 on top of Google’s operating system. This handset offers dual SIM and 4G LTE connectivity (FDD-LTE, TD-LTE; TD-SCDMA), while a 3,100mAh battery is also a part of this package.

This handset sports a physical home button below the display, and will be available in Blue, White, Rose and Gray color options. The phone resembles its predecessor a whole lot actually, though the physical home button does differentiate it to some extent. The 16GB variant of this handset will cost 799 Yuan ($129), while the 32GB model will set you back 999 Yuan ($161), which is an extremely appealing price point for this handset, in both cases. The Meizu M2 Note will be available in China starting later today, and if you’d like to take a look at some images from the event itself, including the device itself, check out the images in the gallery down below.
