I bought this for my 2007 Touareg and it's perfect. Transplanting the circuit board and flip-out key from my broken case was a breeze. Keeping the key spring under tension (you have to give it one wind so it flips out) while snapping the case together took a couple tries, but I'm kinda clumsy to begin with. Inside the case nothing is glued or fused together (on the old key or the new one), but it's all held in place by little slots and posts. That being said, once the spring is wound and everything is in place, you have to rely on gravity to overcome any unsteadiness you inflict on the delicate balance as you pop the top on the case. Then you have to keep squeezing until you fasten the big screw. After that, it's just 2 little screws, the battery, the battery cover, and you're ready to hit the road. Oh, and if you've been watching videos about how to do this, the Touareg key is easier than any of the videos I watched. The RFID chip is on the circuit board so you don't have to transplant that part separately. Shipping was USPS and took about a week to get from the LA area to Portland.
