    THIS PHONE IS AMAZING!
I have been using the phone for about 8 months now. It's very fast, charges pretty quick, and the battery life lasts for about 3 to 4 days with occasional music and regular texting, and e-mailing. When I activated the stamina mode it can last upward of a week... That's just impressive. The speakers sound pretty good for a phone, and they are dual front facing which is an enormous upgrade from using Samsung phones and their rear mono speaker. The camera looks really nice, I've added some photos for reference, and I was able to use it with AT&T in the USA, I am able to take full advantage of the LTE network and coverage. To get it to work with AT&T, first insert the sim card, then your gonna have to go into settings, then under "Wireless & networks" select "More", from there select "Internet settings" a pop-up should appear stating: "Note Your device will now connect to the internet, for quick setup of Internet and MMS services. Data transmission charges may apply." by hitting Accept you will have another pop-op the states: "Select operator" and lists "Red Pocket US" "ATT" "H2O Wireless USA" select "ATT" and give it a few minutes to download, once it's done reboot your phone and you should be golden. And on top of those nice features like the fast processor, nice amount of ram and a fancy camera and speakers, it's water resistant with an Ingress Protection rating of IP65/IP68 according to the website, for reference I've taken it in the pool to take a couple pictures underwater, and I can play my music in the shower just fine. Just make sure you keep the Micro-USB and SD card ports closed up before exposing it to any water, you don't need to worry about the headphone jack, although I would try using the headphone jack while wet just to be safe.

I have had 3 of these phones over the past couple of years, I'll get to that in a minute...

    Pros:
*Excellent display, bright and clear even in the sunlight. Very good representation of colors and 1080p is crystal clear.

*Great audio quality through headphones and the front facing stereo speakers are some of the best quality I've ever heard on a mobile device, period. The only other phone that I've heard that gives these speakers a run for their money is the HTC M8, and even then it's just a difference of opinion on what you like. The speakers were the main selling point for me in buying the Z3.

*The fastest phone I've owned, can still keep up with most current flagships by other brands even though it's a 2 year old phone thanks to it's beastly 2.5 GHz quad-core processor and 3 GB of RAM.

*It's 3,100 mAH battery is SUPERB, the longest lasting battery I've ever seen at work in a phone, easily outlasting current generation phones making other people jealous 😀. After a full day at work, which includes a few texts here and there, usually about an hour of browsing the web and playing a couple of games while simultaneously playing music at lunch, and then another hour or two of playing nonstop music with the Walkman app after closing down, it's usually only down to around 70% or so from full. That's working outside in the 90 degree+ Florida heat. Standby time is pretty amazing too, fully charged at night and usually still around 95-97% percent 8 hours later.

*The camera is, while not the best, still excellent. 20 megapixels is plenty but the pictures don't always come out quite as good as I'd expect or like for being Sony's 2014 flagship. Nonetheless, still a great camera for still pictures... I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Video recording in HD and full HD are excellent, with the option of 60 fps and even has an included app to record slow motion shots at 120 fps. Built in stereo microphones make the experience even better.

    *3,100 mA

    CONS

*The glass back is extremely fingerprint prone...
That's really the only complaint I have about this phone.

I'm currently on my third Z3... The first one I accidentally ran over with a forklift (I enjoy listening to music when I close at work at night, had the phone sitting on the forklift next to the seat, took a turn too fast, phone fell, I cried for a couple of hours. Surprisingly however, the screen still turned on by using the power button and the volume and camera buttons still worked, the phone even still received calls and texts. Not too bad for being run over by a 10,000 pound piece of machinery. Pretty impressive metal casing Sony put around the phone. The screen was shattered beyond recognition mind you, but that's to be expected. I had the phone a little over a year with NOT one issue.

My second Z3 lasted about a month. When it first arrived, the back glass panel was slightly lifted away from the phone's metal casing. Within a couple of weeks it had started coming off with only my case holding it on, I tried electrical tape which held up fine for a couple of weeks until the screen developed a phantom crack (I've read on forums that it's a rare issue with the Z3s) which within about an hour rendered the screen entirely nonfunctional, starting at the top and making it's way down. It was rather depressing to see the phone basically die that quickly 😞.

Now I'm on my third one and again upon arrival, the back casing was a little loose. Also the screen is lifted up slightly in the same spot that the back is. But I'm just going to stick with this one and take my chances because I love it so much. The new Z5 seems like a great phone but just not enough of an improvement for me right now to spend that kind of money again. Also from what I've researched, the stereo speakers don't sound quite as good because of the placement and design of the grilles.
It's been about three months and so far the phone is still holding up OK, so that's good. I will update if it (God forbid) dies on me or gets worse.

Also my second and third Z3s had/have the notorious overheating camera issue, the first one never had the issue. The camera will overheat within a few minutes, which is exponentially accelerated when being used outside in the Florida heat.

All in all, I love the Sony Xperia Z3, and while some people criticize their phones, I praise their revolutionary designs and features like the fact that it's extremely water resistant /dust resistant and has an excellent battery, front facing stereo speakers, full hd screen, 20 megapixel 1080p/2K video recorder, very lightweight and slim and sleek design, durable and a very fast phone...
One thing to note though from my experience with three of them is if you buy one now, I would not test it's durability or water resistance if you don't have to. It seems the Z3's exterior wasn't designed well enough to hold up for more than a couple of years.

I will start by saying, I love this phone and am very happy with the purchase. It is fast, it is beautiful, it has a fantastic battery life, and it is as waterproof as I need it to be, even if the screen is cracked.

I really wanted to write this review to make sure that buyers are aware of what is being sold, at least by Wireless Hub. This is not a factory phone bloated exclusively by Sony, It appears to be an unlocked version sold by T-Mobile in Poland. The default language is Polish and it has a few apps pre-installed that clearly come from the Polish carrier. Some can be uninstalled, others can't. Examples of some of the apps that cannot be uninstalled are Start (like WidgetLocker, all ready filled with apps and sliders based around some of T-Mobile's other apps and an RSS feed with a Polish site, it did not take long for me to turn off the app), MiBox, iPlex.pl, a random browser, Gamebox, Sklep MP3, and SuperMemo T-Mobile. Outside of Start, I do not know what these other apps do because they have not affected my experience with the phone. I believe iPlex is a news app and I have to assume Sklep MP3 is some kind of music service.

The phone itself is very easy to change the language on. When you start it up, it will immediately offer a list of languages. Just select English and everything outside of the apps I described above will be in English after you restart the phone. The only Polish I found before I restarted the phone was when I entered the Multi-tasking menu.

If you want to avoid this extra bloat, pay the extra $20 and buy directly from Sony. I can't imagine the phone they are selling will have these extra apps. Personally, it has not had any effect on my experience with the phone and gives the phone some character. My battery life, after using it for a few days, has been fantastic. Using the phone constantly, I cannot get it below 50% in daily use. The only apps draining my battery are the ones I am using.

Again, the phone is great, I love it. It works just fine on that AT&T network, assuming you put in the correct information. I just wanted to ensure that buyers are aware of what they are getting. I strongly recommend the phone, even with the Polish bloat.

This was a nice upgrade from an Xperia SP that I had for almost 2 years. Good points include the slim, elegant, iPhone 6-like styling that looks stunning sitting on your desk. Unfortunately it is difficult to hold and the glass construction makes it feel fragile, like holding a piece of fine china in your hand. A case would fix that but it takes away from the looks. Apps load and respond quickly and normal phone operation is seamless. The camera does not live up to its hype, proving difficult to focus occasionally and storing pictures slowly. Color accuracy also leaves something to be desired, especially with reds. The USB charge/data port is hidden behind a door that will probably break off with frequent use, so I've got a magentic charge cable on order. Fortunately it is a true 2 day battery even with heavy use including a whole morning of streaming music, so you won't have to charge it as often. Speaking of music, the Walkman app deserves special mention as it is a beautiful interface with a useful equalizer and lots of adjustments available for sound stage. The built-in front-facing speakers sound superb and are easily comparable to my son's HTC One M8's "Boomsound". The Z3 is so rare in the US that no retail stores carry accessories for it, so you'll have to order everything online. However, If you're a determined nonconformist who wants a beautifully made phone that's not your friends' iPhone or Galaxy, the Z3 is the one to get.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some improvements to my old Z2. Hope this one lasts... Update: yes 9m on and all good. Update: had it for 15m and still fine.

My new Sony Z3 phone arrived today. Bought it after my Z2 had to go back to Amazon after it completely died on me after 4 months. Fortunately Amazon is giving a refund for it.

First impressions. Feels more ergonomic than the Z2 and a bit lighter. Hoping the new flaps design will stay closed better - they look more promising. UPDATE: Been using for a few months now and the flaps and edges of phone are a big improvement over the Z2... I am much more confident of taking the phone near water than I was with the older version.

Thankfully my Z2 magentic charging dock and sony z2 phone case still fit with the new Z3. I am alittle ddisappointed that at £500 the Z3 does not come with the NC31 noise cancelling earphones, whereas the Z2 did. That is another £20 cost I hadn't bargained for, as I like the noise cancellation feature on my train journeys. Shame I posted the old NC31 headphones back with the faulty Z2.

You can see my Z2 review for a lot of the features such as sound, camera and video that I found great on the old Z2 and will be just as good here. I understand the screen is brighter now, so will add a further post once I have considered how noticeable such enhancements.

Given the new phone uses a nano sim, as opposed to the micro sim in the Z2, it will take a few days until I get the new sized sim and start using it as an actual phone!

1st update: Got the nano sim today. Just needed to pop into Vodafone store and they replaced it straight away. Had to later take the sim out and reinsert it though for things to work. Used the phone today on hr long trip to London. Must say that the screen is fantastic! Whereas I used to struggle to view things when sun shining through the window, the bright screen coupled with matt screen protector means practically no reflection and great to use.

Update: Had phone about 9m now. Still really liking it. Great for skygo, netflix and Web browsing, and yes, as a phone. Practised with the camera settings while on holiday this summer, and pleased with the manual setting, as it is possible to adjust the extent of exposure.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm in love.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 26, 2015
My review can be summed up in one sentence: My biggest complaint with this phone is that the volume buttons are not as tactile/responsive as I feel they should be. That's all there is to it. A tiny thing like that is honestly my biggest complaint about the whole phone.

FYI - I upgraded from a Nexus 5. So, the Z3 - Screen is excellent, battery life is incredible, its looks... its looks! It looks almost too nice, like you don't really want to use it because of how beautiful it is. The back is slippery, yes, but that's what you get with a glass back. Either get yourself a case (try to get one which doesn't diminish the phone's appearance too much!) or just be extra careful. I also purchase a 128GB micro SD and tempered glass protectors for both the front and back glass. Adds a bit more expense, but for the added protection against permanent screen scratches, I'm happy to pay it. Even in late 2015, this is still a very solid buy, especially considering the price. I was lucky and got this for £250 from Amazon Warehouse Deals, in Like New condition. And it genuinely was exactly like new, except the retail box had some stickers on it, which I easily removed. The phone itself was in pristine condition, and included all accessories.

    Pros:
    - Everything about the phone is amazing except for the very minor cons below.

    Cons:
    - Volume buttons not as tactile/responsive as I would like.
    - Slippery to hold. Be extra careful or get yourself a case if you don't mind using one (I'm not a fan of them but I have ordered a minimalist one).
    - Sony bloat-ware was there at first, but the majority of it is very easy to remove, simply uninstall it. Anything I couldn't uninstall (2 or 3 apps) I just put in a folder at the end of my apps list. Easily fixed!
    - So nice-looking that I was afraid to use it at first, still am very careful when using it (I know this isn't really a con, but it just shows how minor my complaints with this phone really are!).

I guess it's fairly deceiving with such a short pros list and a long cons list - so if you're just skimming and read this last paragraph, know this - this phone is amazing. The cons are extremely minor, everything else about the phone is fantastic. And yes, as you can tell, I'm in love with this phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Android device EVER MADE!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 4, 2015
What more could you want from a phone?

    - It's remarkably light
    - It responds INSTANTLY, even with power-saving "STAMINA" mode enabled
    - It has the power to run anything on the Android market
    - The internal speakers have fantastic sound quality, considering that they are flat drivers inside a very slim housing
    - The screen is large enough to enjoy movies on, and for those of us with "fat fingers" like myself
    - It's WATERPROOF (in fresh water only, of course)... which is good for those of us who spend most of our lives out in the rain (or "traditional British summer" as I like to call it)
    - Comes with screen protectors, and they provide a MATT finish instead of gloss which means...
    - ... The display is exceptionally clear, even in strong sunlight! My Galaxy S3 was NEVER that easy to see in daylight!
    - The magnetic dock (purchased separately) makes it super easy to sit on the bedside table at night, while charging.
    - Magnetic Charger Cable works UNDER WATER. I've not found a use for that myself, but it's impressive to think about just the same.
    - The glass on the front and rear (which, obviously, COULD break if you were to throw your phone around) is highly scratch resistant, and surprisingly considering how thin it is.
    - The CaseMate case for this handset is brilliant! It's very similar to Otterbox offerings for other devices, and doesn't stop you from accessing the USB OR using the charging dock.
    - Signal reception is EXTREMELY GOOD! I actually get mobile reception in places I've NEVER received it before (and I live in an ultra-rural environment, where cell towers are few and far between).
    - The rear camera is mind-blowing... 20.7mpix, and I've found it produces very good pictures even in lowlight conditions.

I have owned a LOT of Android devices (phones and tablets). By far and away, the Xperia Z3 is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!

    WHY I DIDN'T BUY THE Z3+
    -------------------------------------------
The Z3+ is the "bigger brother" of the Z3, but has a CRUCIAL design flaw. Because they've crammed an additional quad-core processor inside the Z3+ (which, honestly, is NOT necessary as far as I'm concerned), it overheats horrifically, and consumes a TON of power.

The Z3 on the other hand does not get hot (at least, not so much so that you're going to be concerned about it).
The Z3 has exceptional battery runtime. I've yet to find myself getting even as low as 60% within a day, and I use my phone excessively (admittedly, mostly for playing music while I work and travel).
A colleague of mine has the Z3+, and his needs recharging constantly (would hit < 15% in 8 hours).

So, don't be tempted by the Z3+ and its bold claims of "more power". The Z3 is the superior device, with the more solid design and all the performance you could need in this day and age (and more besides, I'll wager).

I'M NEVER GOING BACK TO SAMSUNG!
