I first received the Kodak EasyShare C182 Digital Camera as a present for my birthday. It got broken in an unfortunate accident, and when the time came to purchase a brand new digital camera, I chose the exact same camera! Despite being the kind of camera that has a lithium battery included, this one comes with 2 double A batteries, which is inconvenient at first, but not if you invest in some rechargeable double A batteries and a charger for cheap at a pharmacy or electronic store. It has great resolution, it's incredibly "easy" to use as its title suggests, it's inexpensive, and the photos it takes are really high quality! The camera itself has a lot of features, such as letting you crop, or rotate your pics and it takes great videos too! It doesn't have a built in speaker, though, but it's sound quality is great too. And another thing I love about this camera is that there is no software you have to "pre-install" on your computer in order to use it. You just plug it in, import the photos onto your hard drive, and you're set! It's an amazing camera, and I wouldn't go without it!

I LOVE this Camera. the 1st one I bought was around Christmas time searching for cameras for two teenage girls. I wandered into Best buy and they had all these camera manufacturer representatives standing around to answer questions and try to boost their sales. The Kodak Rep walks up to me and ask who I was buying for and their ages. When I told him two teenage girls he said I have the camera for you. and then he said I want you notice the other reps are standing back because their cameras can't do this.. He told me how many times with a digital camera have you stood perfectly still, took the picture and it still came out blury. He said Smart capture fixes that.. to demonstrate he had me wave the camera and as I was waving the camera push the button to take a picture. I did and when I looked at the picture.. Crystal clear. no blur and the camera was MOVING when I took the pic.. I bought two. the girls were thrilled.. I would borrow one of their cameras from time to time until I finally bought one for myself which I keep constantly in the glove box. I' since then bought a number of them for nieces and nephews who all love them.. now their parents want one to. The video is a bit grainy considering its a low resolution but it does a pretty decent job (provided you don't use the zoom when making a video... too dark an image) and the sound is pretty decent too. I have made videos of a few bands and posted them On you tube .. and as I said.. not a bad video for a camera!.. I give this camera 10 stars! .. oh get the one that takes batteries and not the rechargeable one. easy to change batteries out in the field when it goes dead.. rechargeable.... you're down until you can get to a charger!

We really wanted to like this camera for its great features and price but it seems Kodak must have rushed it out of the door half-baked.

Out of the box the flash didn't work. We tried every setting possible, including setting the flash to "always on"; nothing worked. Unfortunately this ruined my daughter's birthday since this was her main gift and she wasn't able to take any pictures that evening. We finally gave up and returned the camera to Amazon.

A few days later we bought another Kodak C182 from Target (since the price was $20 cheaper) and the flash worked great. After putting in the SD card; however, a green line appeared on the LCD screen, running vertically down the middle of the screen. It will not go away. Taking the card out, resetting the camera, and trying every possible setting hasn't helped. Online searches haven't revealed any help either.

Between research, returns, and running around to find a replacement we've wasted 12+ hours so we're returning this second camera and writing off Kodak for good.

My sister had a Kodak Easyshare and I fell in love with it but I didn't like that there was no sound on the videos. When I purchased this model it was a newer model than hers so I thought that it would be upgraded with speakers. I was wrong. It takes decent pictures and is easy to use but the other part totally makes it suck. Why should the camera be capable of recording videos if it's not capable of recording sound? Kodak dropped the ball on this one. With this being said I paid $85 on amazon.com, way too much if you ask me, and today Oct 8, 2011 I see it's selling for $125.00, I wouldn't dare pay that much. There are much better cameras at lower prices.

EDITING REVIEW: Other customers have told me that the C182 does have sound, just not during playback on the camera. This to me still makes little sense, but I do like the camera and if I find this to be true...since I'm at work I can't check that--but I'm have the faith--then I apologize to Kodak for getting a little angry! Hope that makes everyone happy! I still wouldn't pay more than $60 for it if I had it to buy all over again.

And I'm adding a star since my first review was 3 out of 5.

The C-182 Kodak Digital Camera is one of the best small digital cameras ever made in my opinion. It is versatile, easy to use and produces clear, sharp pictures and videos. I have had one for over ten years and was amazed to be able to obtain another one for my granddaughter. I wish Kodak was still around to reissue the camera as it is amazing.
