Description:

LUFTWAFFE FALLSCHIRMJAGER GRAVITY KNIFE
German ‘Fallschirmjager' gravity knife, 4 in. blade and 10 in. overall. The handle is covered with walnut scales, and the bolster is nickel silver. A 3.5 in. marlin spike folds out from the bottom, while the blade is designed to slide out from the handle when the spring loaded special catch is depressed. The marlinspike bears a stylized Waffenamt at the corner of the tang, while the safety catch is marked ‘36' on the underside. The stainless steel blade is maker marked ‘PAUL WEYERSBERG & CO. SOLINGEN' is in nice condition with a bright makers mark, only showing a moderate amount of noticeable sharpening. Regrettably this knife has taken apart and for a spring repair at some point, and unskillfully reassembled, resulting in damaged rivets, bent spike pocket lining and a case that has not been put together as tightly as it was in its original state. Could be restored nicely by a knifesmith familiar with german gravity knives. Though the spring still works, the movement of the blade is not as smooth as intended due to it not being put together properly. Overall good condition.
