The annual Michigan International Auto Show in Grand Rapids rolled into town Thursday morning with a jam-packed weekend full of new cars and exciting exhibits.

Located at the DeVos Place, the four-day event kicked off Thursday morning at 11 a.m.

The auto show will feature the Million Dollar Motorway, where attendees can get an up-close look at a very special collection of performance and luxury vehicles from all over the world. Every set of wheels parked on the motorway must have a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price of over $100,000 to be included in the display – meaning there will be Aston Martin's, Bentley's, BMW's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and more.

This year marked the first time in recent years that the Grand Rapids auto show is held before the larger, more glamorous North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The North American International Auto Show typically runs in January at the Cobo Center in downtown Detroit, but this year is being held in June.

Tickets and parking

Tickets for adults are $12, while the price of admission is $5 for children ages 6 to 14. Children age 5 and under get in free.

Thursday was First Responders Day. All active EMS, police, fire, military, and retired veterans got free admission with a valid ID.

Parking is available beneath DeVos Place and other lots throughout downtown.

In addition, visitors can park in Dash Lot Area 9 —located along Seward Avenue NW between Lake Michigan Drive and Chatham St. NW — for $2 and take a trolley to the auto show. The trolley will make an 8-minute loop between the auto show and the Dash lot starting one hour before the show starts and ending one hour after the show closes.
