A Grand Theft Auto IV remaster is yet to be released, but there's no doubt that it would look amazing powered by more modern game engines and tech, as suggested by a video shared on YouTube this week.

The new 8K resolution video, which was shared by Digital Dreams, shows the map of the fourth entry in the series remastered in the GTA V engine and with multiple mods, such as a ray-traced global illumination ReShade preset and the Real Life graphics mod. Needless to say, the end results are truly stunning.

Rumors regarding a proper Grand Theft Auto IV remaster have been circulating online for a while, but nothing has materialized to date. With Rockstar Games focused on the development of GTA 6, scheduled for release next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, it is unlikely a remaster will be coming before a few years. With the developer, however, bringing another game released during the PS3/Xbox 360 generation, Red Dead Redemption, to PlayStation consoles and Switch, chances for an official remaster are not as slim as they looked to be in the past.

Grand Theft Auto IV is now available on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. More information on the fourth entry in the series can be found on its official website.
