This post discusses how to reset your DSC home alarm system. When your system detects trouble, the indicator light (trouble light) turns on.

In addition, the keypad beeps every 10 seconds to serve as another indicator that something is wrong with your alarm.

Before we get to the steps, your system may be equipped with a keypad similar to one of the three in the picture below. Please note, that the instructions still apply no matter which keypad you have.

Steps to Reset Your DSC Home Alarm

  • Open the access door on your keypad
  • If your keypad is beeping, press # to silence it.
  • Enter your master code twice, back-to-back.
  • Press and hold the Reset button for three seconds. Or, press * and 72 if your keypad doesn’t have the Reset button.

If a sensor fails to reset, it may still be detecting an alarm condition. The alarm will reactivate or continue until the condition is cleared. If the sensor reset is successful, the alarm is canceled.
