Pleione limprichtii also called as Hardy Chinese Orchid, Limpritch's Pleione, Pleione bulbocodioides var. limprichtii, is a species of the genus . This species was described by Rudolf Schlechter in 1922.
IDENTIFY PLEIONE LIMPRICHTII

Limpritch's Pleione is a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid, which reaching 15 cm tall, with green to purple, conic-ovoid, elongated neck, 3-4cm long pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, immature at flowering, lanceolate, papery, acute, to 13cm long leaf.
Hardy Chinese Orchid blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, 10 to 12 cm long, single to rarely 2 flowered inflorescence with pale purplish red, oblanceolate, exceeding the ovary floral bracts. The deep pink flowers with rose red spotted lips are 5-6 cm in diameter.
PLEIONE LIMPRICHTII CARE AND CULTURE

During the growing period (when the roots have already formed) this orchid requires frequent fertilization, once a week, using a special liquid fertilizer for orchids in 1/6 of the dose indicated on the bottle. Before the fertilization the orchid gets water and then immersed in a container with water and diluted fertilizer, where it remains for about 10 minutes. From September the fertilizations are reduced to one every 2 weeks, and in November they are completely suspended.
Rest period:
In autumn, when the leaves fall, the watering is suspended, and when the substrate becomes completely dry, the bulbs are removed from the pot and dried further (if needed) in a cool place (with temperatures of 8- 10 ° C).
