View from window. Cloudy day, automatic setting.

I had a suggestion that for typical UK cloudy days, I should select 'cloudy' setting. The picture is somehow sharper, but I find it less natural.

macro view (NOT super macro) -- found in my son's mussel

Blossom (Evening flash)

Inside shot, no flash.  Taken with mini-tripod and delay for steady picture [1/3 sec shutter])

Evening Branches

Old wheels.

Daytime branches. Brighter light and sharper focus.

White houses in bright (for England) light. The outhouses at the front are off-white.

Macro mode. This is about as close as you can get and have the focus admit to being OK. There is reasonable depth of focus when the light is bright, so I probably could have got a little closer and still been ok.

No, not black and white! We were up the Pap of Glencoe (top left of the mid right square in the map), looking west over Loch Leven and into Loch Linnhe. 742 meters is about 2500 feet; you don't need to be very high to get fantastic views if you are right by the sea (both lochs are sea lochs).

Taken about an hour earlier than the dark version. Light changes very quickly.
